Omar Brouksy, a Moroccan journalist with the Agence France Presse (AFP), was covering a protest in Rabat, Morocco when he was beaten and harassed by police supressing the protest. Dozens of Moroccans gathered in front of the parliament building to denounce the annual "king loyalty ritual." The demonstration coincided with the annual ceremony, which occured a few days before. The ceremony lasts hours and includes numerous government officials pledging their allegiance to the king through bows and praises.
Below is footage of Omar Brouksy being harassed by police, who later flee after he proves he is a journalist by flashing his press badge. Soon after he shows his press badge, police leave the scene. Reporters Without Borders also covered the situation.
